My Station Wagon full of angels

I just came back from an overnight trip to Woodstock, GA for an MDS class with Cindy Schuster nutmegcreations.blogspot.com and Monika Davis.  Make sure you take a peek at Cindy's blog as she is awesome....especially with MDS....oh yeah...her cards aren't bad either....lol....Her classes are so worth the time!!
I decided to stay overnight....wonderful Anne Arnold invited me to stay (now there is a wonderful Christian family!!) to avoid the AM traffic from Alabama.  On my way to her house, my load of angels were ssssssoooo busy...I had my cruise control on 55 and this white truck pulled out into traffic .......If I didn't turn my car I would hit him broadside, if I turned to the left I would have hit the tail end of the bed ...I ended up turning to the right and literally missed the truck by less than an inch....luckily he hit the brake....when I went around the truck, I saw two teenagers sitting in the bed of the truck.  I think I was traumatized and shaking for about another 30 minutes of driving...there is no way those two teenagers would have stayed in that bed of the truck had their been an accident...I spent the rest of the drive thankiing God and my angels for watching over me....Have a blessed day...

Late Nite Stampers

I am a member of Late Nite Stampers...a lot of people from Stampin Up  on that site..and they are very inspirational...creatively and otherwise.   I (Fran Kennedy) am instructing at the preconvention with Late Nite Stampers.  Three years ago when I met Sherrill , I felt I had known her a long time...such a wonderful giving person.  Along the way, I got to know some of the instructors....such as Tami McCalla , Penny Silva and Kristi Kelly....a very creative group...also was fortunate to meet the wonderful Martie Shea.  Diane Squires and two other ladies (Karen Miller) and Ornetta are assisting in the instuction for the couple days before convention.  If you have not considered this...give it some thought for next year.  This is the third year I have been involved in the teaching end...you get wonderful projects to help you professionally or personally.  I can not say enough about the creativity of these instructors.  I am taking someone else's idea and adapting it...I changed the measurements but the basic design of the purse is not mine.  I will post this project on my blog on Tues, July 17th in the early am...that will be the last day of stamp camp.

I am going into Woodstock , Ga for the day tomo....for a wonderful MDS scrapbook class with Monika Davis and Cindy Schuster.....I have been ssssoooo blessed to have met them both...both are so talented in that field.....have a blessed day...

Make a cake, Patio Party DSP and Finishing touches edgelits

It was hard for me to get use to this color when it first came out but am ok with it now....this DSP is the best as there are so many choices with this  Dsp....used the striped embossing folder, and love the finishing touches edgelit...I am hoping that SU comes up with the same die only larger for scrapbooking....and the Make a Cake stamp set is so reasonable at 11.95 for the clear set...have a blessed day...

Chevron and Smoochies DSP/

These two go so great together...thought of this card as soon as I looked real close at the Smoochies paper....I was getting our project together for Sherrill's preconvention...and this is the paper we are going to use...mostof the brights on the DSP...just a few with the green color...but love this paper..it is so much fun and bright...I cut the DSP 1 1/2 x 4 1/4.....and used the labels collection and our new single stamp set, Beautiful Birthday...and it is only 6.95......LLLOOOVVVEEE the script verse..have a blessed day....

challenge 178 Double Embossing

I used this card for the challenge, but I had made it for a swap at Leadership....sorry the picture is so bad...with the glossy paper and the embossing...the shine is inevitable..I really love the way this turned out...I used the sets....Elements of Style and Creative Elements in versamark on the glossy paper and then sponged in daffodil (it is brighter up close...lol), with a little olive and sponged off navy...used the houndstooth embossing folder   I double embossed with the silve and gold embossing powder.....thanks for stopping by....Have a blessed day...

fancy fan folder

I meant to use Cherry Cobbler ...and grabbed bravo burgundy in error..so I went with it...would have loved the cobbler  better but this works...this photo doesn't do this card justice....used the pink pirouette and wisteria.  Ribbon lace punch and adorning accents embosing folders were used, in addition to the Floral Fusion sizzlet....such a cute die....this was a happy dance card for me...lol...have a blessed day

10 for 10 class...Serene Silhouettes

As soon as I saw the new catalog , this was my first "MUST HAVE".....if I would not have been in a hurry, I would have done a better sponging job....but love this look...the set is perfect for brayering or sponging....how lucky are we to be associated with such wonderful desingers at SU...they just amaze me...to say the least.....I created a template from the labels collection...made it as big as the card so no mistakes on the sponging onto the main card...5 1/2 x 4 1/4.....it is probably a good idea for you to use temporary adhesive so the piece doesn't move....sponged in daffodil delight and suede and stamped in the new black pad...oh...how I wish I could replace all of mine...lol....have a blessed day...

Natural Composition Specialty DSP

I just finished a 10 for 10 class...these are very simple cards...the class can be easily finished in less than an hour most of the time...it depends on the person.  I do all the extra work...the customer just has to stamp and adhere...and maybe a little cutting here and there...will be posting the rest of the cards within the next few days..
This card uses the Natural Composition DSP....wonderful paper...I took one sheet and brayered it with the midnight muse and then punched these for each person...all the gloss shows through...lovely!!  I did one for an upcoming class that even looks better......have a blessed day....

Loving Thoughts with frost glimmer

My plan is to get a new camera..I am sure it is not the photographer...this doesn't do the card justice..it is embossed with the manhattan folder and then sprayed with the frost white glimmer...gives it a wonderful sheen...did the banner with the end of square punch...after the tags were punched...they were fanned out and attached with glue dots...have a blessed day

Forever Yound and frames

.
I am sorry this isn't a good example of the frames, but if you take your time and do this, it turns out well...below will show you in tutorial form how to make the frames....did a great one after this but it is no longer around.....the top part of the card is in houndstooth for a faux wallpaper effect
I cut this large to show you on which edge of the punch you would cut this piece for the top....make it a lot smaller than shown in the above picture.  It should be half the size as shown...the same for the picture of the sides below..although if you cutit in half you can adjust the pieces...
Have a blessed day.....

Betsy's Bloom and rock n roll technique

This card was done in a previous class to show the rock and roll technique...this method is to stamp the circular stamp in a light color and then reink in a darker color and roll the stamp in a circular motion and then stamp .....this is easier to do with a small stamp then a larger one....my customers all had different looks depending on their movements.....have a great day.....

Be of Good Cheer DSP used as an occasion card

I have to tell you I am ssssooo not a green person(maybe due to the AF fatigues I wore for six yrs...lol)....but this green just makes me smile...it is so vibrant and fun....I wanted to use the Eleanor set that we received at Leadership but wanted it to really pop...as Robin Merriman would say, I did the happy dance...really love the simplicity of this card....I am a layered person, so this is hard to achieve for me...the tag(Lots of Tags sizzlets) was precut for class and then stamped and daubered on the edges.....the three flowers in the set were stamped with Midnight muse....(I am SSSSSSOOOO IN LOVE with these new pads..unbelievable...lol) and I just took a blender pen and blended the color just on the shading  parts..liked the different look of it...the two small are flat and the top flower only had one dimensional on it.  I know it looks like two dimensionals, but I think that has to do wit6h the contrast of the flowers..I did not adhere the ribbon around the edges of the paper but suggested my customers do for a cleaner look....isn't that ribbon yummy!!

Challenge 176 on LNS..Betsy's Blossoms and A Fitting Occasion

These are two of the cards I made for the LNS Challenge 176...the colors are really quite pretty together....the top one is a take off on a combination of a couple of cards I made for classes recently.  If you look at the blooms in the first card....different techniques are being used. Love the new chevron embossing folder. The top left hand corner bloom is done by coloring the bloom with the daffodil and adding some melon with the marker, then spraying with water...has a really nice watercolor look....the one on the lower right is done with the two markers and the thumping technqiue...a couple of the small blooms are done using the rock n roll technqiue.......................................The bottom card is using the new fancy fan folder with the melon cardstock....the yellow used the new edgelit....one of the finishing touches edgelit...it is wonderful ....I also used the new A Fitting Occasion stamp set and the wonderful little labels punch pack...that card turned out great...may use that design on a future class....thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful blessed day.....

A case using incolors from Stampin Success

We are ssssooo fortunate to work for such a wonderful company...love their magazine that SU puts out...this card was done ..it was a case from the one in the latest catalog...Cindy Schuster (now there is one MDS talented person...she and Patty Bennett...so talented and so humble...you may have seen some of Cindy's work if you went to Leadership in San Antonio...)  I sent the card out to some customers as thank you for orders.....so simple.....this is using the circle circus set with the punch...using a larger circle and the postage punch....it gave the customers a headsup on the new incolors....have a wonderful blessed day.....

I will ssssooo miss Susie when she moves

Susie is a recent stamper within the last year.  She just joined the Hostess Club this year and she is moving....she is so much fun...she will be missed.  I know if you are reading this Susie , you are saying "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" or laughing ...am really happy for you but sad for me...at least I will enjoy your company and humor for a couple more months....don't forget, as a few people have said, you always have a place to stay when you stop back and see us...you can stay a week and just move from place to place...you might even get a home cooked meal out of it.  I did so enjoy meeting your daughter, Amanda...she is a cutie!!   Have a great evening>>>

New DSP...Patio Party paper....simple and stepping up

What is sssooo great about this paper is that is matching ssssooo many colors....you could make a simpler card....just the bird with the leaf, then the bird, leaf and die cut....the difference in the two is the rhinestones, popped up wing....(it is suppose to be popped up in the second , not the first...ooo...sorry) adding the flower and leaves.....I LLLLLLLLLOOOOOVVVEEEE these new ink pads....make it sssssooo simple to stamp.......have a  blessed day.....

These are from my last card ministry (From our Hearts group...for the soldiers...Martie Shea) the top part is current the bottom is not....but you could use the ribbon punch and add a small stip of paper behind it..,,,bashful blue is sponged on the glossy with a scalloped piece of paper to do the clouds...the 2 1/2 in punch is used and the 3 inch die....have a wonderful, blessed day.....

Retired set....love the scale technique

I love this technique....I had seen it at Leadership but never got around to asking how it was done...thanks to Frenchie stampandscrapwithfrenchie...she gave a tutorial..I LLLLLOOOVVVEEE her tutorials!! I will give you a quick lesson below....cut the scalloped line from the Tasteful Trims Bigz XL die and use the 3/4 circle to get the effect...I cut them large for class...you can always trim them.  I know this set has retired...I thought for sure it would make the catty because of the heart dies, but no...it didn't ...bummer.  Here is my card using that technique...
Have a wonderful, blessed day......

Broke my promise about posting regularly

I feel  sssssooooo bad for not posting on a regular basis....right now I should be cleaning all this white powder in my house.....anything to do rather than tackling that...lol.  Since I last posted, went to Monika Davis's downline meeting in Woodstock, Ga....(and looked at furniture on the way and found one couch but Ga dealer doesn't deliver in AL....seems like that is the norm...lol)  So I walked into Ashley...my whole house will end up being Ashley but not by design.  Just ordered the couch and DR set from Akins in Ft Payne area.  I work with Peggy there....good saleslady ...very efficient!!   So now I will have to get busy and get the painting done before the furniture arrives in a 2-3 wk period...and while I was in there...saw a media center I liked for a small dresser in second bedroom....that wasn't Ashley...lol.  It is a drive for me but well worth it.   Was so excited when I was traveling to Woodstock....there was a great rug place......stopped...empty store...out of business...bummer.   Anne Arnold and her family in Woodstock are so gracious.  When she is in town , I stay with her when Monika (Lenkeit) Davis has a meeting or event.  (There are two Monika Davis's in SU...same spelling too...wonderful lady!!)....these have probably been on Monika's blog but here is what Anne did for one of the make n take's that weekend.....
It is using the new hostess set Carry On...Ann used one of the lucite frames that you get at the Dollar store and put a piece of DSP on the inside( I did something similar using these frames for a craft show...the show was a bust but sold some to my customers...lol) and then she added a piece of the self adhesive magnet sheets (retired) and then other signs were on the magnet strip on the back.  She got the post it notes from Staples..........really cute Anne....so many talented people iin that group...!!
