Using new SAB punch

I just love this combination of colors...it really pops off the page...gumball green and midnight muse...Have a great day!!

Case of Glenda...

Ann's Birthday card

Glenda did such a amazing job with this card, I used the almost exact case (changed embossing folder ...where I put flowers and don't remember if she used the shimmer ...) but the inside is all mine...I had planned to do a wonderful bird card for my friend, Ann...and as things go in the creative world/mechanic wise...my bird builder punch jammed...yep...put it in the freezer, banged it against the table and yes, even after freezing it..and using a mallet on it...no punch so had to go another avenue quickly....believe Glenda did an Easter card...this is birthday.......
The heart is embossed and a tag is added...but the cool thing is I was trying to figure out how to make the bottom of the hot air balloon look like a regular balloon....staring at my punches for quite awhile and it hit me...someone probably came up with this already but I was doing Robin's happy dance...I used the owl punch ...the feet...isn't that cool...can't tell I am proud of this accomplishment can you?!     LOL  It made my morning to say the least...guess it does sound like I don't  have a life....the card is gorgeous in person...Glenda is sssooo talented...

Have a wonderful day!!

Pink and Green Hearts a flutter

This is another one of the cards for this weeks class..it was really hard to get a good picture of this..except for the first image all four are embossing with versamark and then the ink color..I used certainly celery....after I was finally finished designing it, I thought it might look better in gumball...the phrases is in gumball green....when this is done in class I will cut the bottom of the vanilla piece and pink cardstock a little bit so that the scallop at the bottom will show more.  Pink pirouette card stock was used and pretty in pink ink..
The phrase at the top and top hearts are popped.  The first green banner used the polka dot embossing folder....Have a good day!!

I told myself this year that I would send my customers a birthday card...it was my intention last year but I did not get it done.  I was out of town for Sarah's birthday, but did get it in the mail late in January....this is Kate's
It really is a stunning card in person...the black is embossed and the butterflies popped up, as are the flowers...sometimes black and white can be gorgeous and elegant..Fine flourish set is used as are the bitty punches....Have a great day

Easter Box tutorial

This is the same box as the Valentine one..just made a few Easter samples, since I had given the Valentine ones away...

This is made with the small purse die... I used old vinyl sheets to put on the die so it shows up better and is easier for customers to use.  If you look at the picture below you will see that I only put the paper on 3 tabs..I put a white gel line where I stopped /started to cut...I used a piece of DSP and cardstock that were each cut 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 (2 of cardstock and 2 of DSP for each box)...the vellum and DSP show the finished cut.
After the papers are cut, they are trimmed on the one side where the ink line is below
You will have two pieces of cardstock/2 of DSP...fold on all the crease lines and trim the one side of each...

The blue piece shows how the tabs look after they are cut and ready to glue...do this to each of the four pieces..There are 2 3/4 square pieces cut for each box...to secure the bottom and have a cleaner look...one is glued on the inside and one on the outside of the bottom of the box
You can use sticky tape or tombow if you would like...I am using mine for display only so I used snail to attach the square box pieces...
Make sure the edges match on the folds when you adhere to the bottom..the two pieces will meet close to the center...
The picture below is how it will look before you glue the sides....

I used tombow to glue the sides....or if you prefer, sticky tape...
Sorry that this is a little blurred...hard to hold the camera and get a shot while waiting for the tombow to dry....have to work on getting the tripod to work...lol
You will then poke a hole with the paper piercer on both top tabs...
I suggest using 1/8 taffeta ribbon or a little wider taffeta ribbon..make sure you cut the ribbon at an angle before trying to get it through the holes at the top of the box...you may have to recut after pulling through...I used between 9-10 inch of ribbon...and trimmed what was left over...if you are craftier, you can probably get by with less than that...

Please feel free to leave me a comment...and any suggestions to make the tutorial a little better  (other than my photography...know that needs work)...Have a great day!!

Pool Party with Rain or Shine set

I love the so saffron with the pool part and the muse...the coordination pool party cardstock was used and sanded...the umbrella was cut out and a dimensional used in the middle..and the umbrella top was rounded with a pencil...as was the banner
This card was done at Monika's as a make n take....I believe Diane Squires  did this one...loved it....I just added the inside....

Inside vellum butterfly card/reverse masking

This is the inside of the vellum butterfly card....I need to get my light box out again...these pictures are terrible...sooooo much better in person..
this is a reverse masking...had them trace the butterfly and then do the sponging with the stencil and then the francais stamp was embossing with espresso...used our new embossing needlepoint folder on a small piece of whisper white....the print paper is from the paper pack in the mini...

A choice was given to use the embosslit of hearts or punch the red heart out...the inside is embossing and the butterfly is from Papillon set...was kissed with the collage curios set (writing on the circle)...Have a great day!!

A case of a card from class

Peggy, one of my talented customers, did the second card as a case from a card I did in a class(first class)...love her card...that would be cute with the hexagon embossing folder....the second one is using circles and then the embossing folder...she did a wonderful job...she doesn't want her picture taken for my blog but didn't mind me posting the cards that she gave to Evelyn...

Here are a couple of people who didn't mind anyone taking their pictures...unfortunately , I didn't get them in their working mode...got them playing with their phones and posing at the same time...I will settle for that....
This really is not a great picture...but that is Sarah, Candy and Kate...very talented stampers...they have been doing this for awhile...Candy will move in a little over a year ....I will miss her humor and fun personality...everyone is playing with their cameras...so funny...it started with them taking pictures of some swaps and then they started taking pictures of each other.  The class was finished...we were just playing...always nice fellowship in classes..there was seven scheduled for this class and one had to cancel due to family emergency....the other three came together and had to leave early...

One of my past classes and used for a swap

I love these colors together and used them only because I was looking for a change...love the way they turned out....Rose Red and Not Quite Navy
Have a great day!!

Oh Hello card share

I did this for my upline's upline, Linda Bauwin swap group...and she sent me for goodies because her customers liked it...isn't that sweet of her...like everyone loves goodies....   Have a great Sunday!!
I used the merry mini punches which are still available...used them for the flower...trying to challenge myself...I did use coordination in this sample but did not with the one I sent Linda, as the paper was not current at the time....it uses eight of  current items...large rhinestone, hexagon embossing folder, needlepoint embossing folder, OH hello stamp set, Ciao, baby stamp set ( I embossed that in black and covered the #1 with the 1/2 inch cherry cobbler piece)..and the mini set and punch which is still available..and the 7/8 scallop punch.  I prepped all the pieces for the flower...there is a 3/4 inch circle behind to glue the petals to...that is the only item that is popped.....

Tree Dilemia

I had this wonderful idea for the last two years...to buy a live spruce for the Christmas Holiday and then have someone take it and plant it on their property.  Since I have loads of trees on my property...I checked with my friends Nita and Mike.  Nita is from Lousyiana and she likes to refer to her hometown and Mike is a Yank (like me).  I had mentioned this idea to Mike last year and I didn't pursue it, but I tried again this year...He is such a good guy...he agreed to help me get it into the house and maybe his daughter would take the tree...they are building a house on this acreage not too far from here.   (LLLLLLLOOOOVVVEEEE the smell and look of a live tree...yes, I know I can buy the fragance..lol)  Well, I looked at some balled trees, after checking locations in the area...I found one and paid for it.  Nita borrowed Mike's truck and we went to pick it up.  Well, our teeth almost dropped out of our heads when the man got the forklift to put it in the bed of the truck.( Have I mentioned that what few mechanical brains I have are used on my stamp business and viewing videos moocho times....was out of that line when the brains were passed out).  When we got to my house, Nita called Mike and he came over to the house....he just looked at the tree...not a happy camper to say the least.   What transpired over the next hour could have won Americas Funniest Videos......I got in the bed with Mike and we tried to move the tree out of the bed...no way.  About this time, DJ came by (a teenager who was picking up pay for some work he had done earlier....asked him if he wanted to help...he is NO FOOL....he took off quietly...LOL).  We finally decided to roll the tree on its side off the truck...we did that ..we were so proud...at least Nita and I...I think Mikes reaction to the whole night was &%$#@@#.
