One of my downline in class on Thursday....love Diane ...she is ssssooo creative...I will have to take a picture of one of her paintings...she can do one in an hr or so.....lol

Tutorial on flower in container

I forgot to take a picture of the yellow flower I did for my hostess group..so this is my sample....again...took it apart and did it my way...didn't have the burlap so used some white cloth I had....
this framelit was used..but you can use any 8 petal flower...Floral Frames framelits #127012
I used the so saffron card stock...
Fold it in half
then in fourths..
open up the flower..
clip the one petal off...
then fold over the single petal and glue behind the petal next to it..
when it is glued it will look like this...(so much for a steady hand....lol)

use your pokie to make a hole in the cente of the flower..
use half a piece of floral wire and curl the end inside the flower...the thinner the wire, the better...thinner is easier to work with...
then use your glue gun and silicone pad and glue the wire into place...
play with the size of the sack you are comfortable with ..put it in small ziplock type bag and then use some white twine to double tie the top and cut off the ziplock part...
Added ribbon right below the glue on the flower...or glue it and add right after...one knot there
gather the piece of square cloth...sorry...didn't measure...just played with it...tie with twine and then add the ribbon...

dress framelit box and hostess luncheon

I have such a nice group of ladies...both who come to classes and my hostess club....the menu was endive and watercress salad...it was a recipe from Commanders Palace in the French Quarter, Chicken with mustard sauce and rice, strawberry bread and coconut cupcakes...Gave these wonderful ladies a yellow rose...
Dessert always comes first doesn't it....wonderful large coconut cupcakes...they loved them...they weren't going to have one but couldn't resist...lol
I will post this Strawberry Pecan bread on Weds...have been making this for years..so moist and yummy...ummmmm
Will post how to make this flower later in the week...
The table setting..next year it will be IN the house..too much to move and set up....the roses were in the middle..the strawberry bread is under cover...
their gifts, plus the flower and the rose...

 yummy cupcakes....

You will have to look at the picture above to see what dress frame box looked like finished...it is cut on the fold and the framelit is placed a little above the fold line....make sure the cutting part is above the fold line ...if you don't you will not have a secure fold for the dress...
the next two pictures are what it looks like finished...I used the lacy brocade embossing folder...yellow ribbon for waist and pearls on bodice and scallops on the bottom...

The directions are for the inside box...
the measurements are 2 x 3 1/2..score at 1/4 inch on the long side and 1 inch on the opposite side...(when this box is finished you can fit one roche in it...but has to be inserted sideways...or bitty candies...lol.)...gel lines show you what it should look like scored....
Snip at the four lines...both across for each other...snip just to score line...this is a very small 1/4 inch snip
this is what it will look like scored...
use sticky tape on the four corner...it doesn't make a difference if you have some tape showing (like I do in the  photo below) because other tape will go there to attach to dress....

Put sticky tape on both sides...adhere the base of the dress to the bottom of the sides...
this is how it is attached...
this is the completed box....will have to make another sample ,as I gave them away and have no sample...that will teach me....lol...the ladies in your group, church or whatever would love these.....

Tea for Two box tutorial

This is the hostess box from Monikas...
You use the new dress die...card base Pop N Cuts #130099..I would not be surprised if SU came out with more inserts other than the dress form...it has a magnetic plate for other dies .....I cut the DSP 4 1/2 x12...it barely goes over the edge of the die...the die is then scored at  1 1/2, 2 1/2, 4 1/2, 6 1/2 , 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 ...score on those lines , then use the xl oval to cut the handle..it is too hard to cut after box is attached..

use bone folder to flatten the score lines...
center the punch in the first 1 1/2 inch scored area for handle...put the tabs
in to secure piece while punching...

these are views from each side...after punched...

The inside piece is cut 6 x 8 1/ 4....and cut into the score lines ...leaving a piece to cut the four tabs....all sides are scored at 2 inches....

attach sticky strip to the end tabs...with the tabs going inside the box

                                    Here is the finished box.....

If you put the sticky strip ...either on the bottom of the box or on the DSP to attach the bottom....

after that is attached, attach the sides....

your box is finished, except for the tag and the ribbon on the handle...
the tag is made using the blossom punch #125603 and the template from the mini..Occasions #129387...with the new array set and the two small scallops from the mini and holiday...

used a bamboo rod to curl the ends of the blossom...
attached with dimensionals.....here is a close up of the tag...
